The Jerusalem Season of Culture is an award-winning, groundbreaking, independent organization comprising artists, curators, dreamers, producers and writers who have declared Jerusalem to be the capital of open people and identified its potential to lead and effect meaningful change.
We use art and culture to create new ways to imagine, conceptualize and promote a more open, freer and inclusive reality. We spearhead long-term, strategic processes that explore, in-depth, the city’s strengths and challenges, and we maximize the fascinating trends that are developing within the city that serve as the raw material for our artistic and social actions.
Our creativity, artistic or otherwise, draws its inspiration from Jerusalem, derives from Jerusalem, attempts to influence Jerusalem and changes perspectives through Jerusalem.
Every year, we crisscross the city from east to west, upturn every stone from north to south, draw inspiration from earthly Jerusalem, aspire to shape heavenly Jerusalem and explore what is considered sacred by the religions and communities that reside within Jerusalem. We plunge into its undercurrents, attempt to dissolve its many, remaining boundaries and create inspirational art that charges the imagination and unites the shared good in the city that is spilling over to the surrounding hills and the world.
